Focused diagnosis
Common Sub-Zero symptoms we evaluate
Similar symptoms can come from different components. We verify appliance condition, installation and system performance before recommending parts or a repair scope.
- Ice maker produces no ice
- Ice production is slow or inconsistent
- Cubes are small, hollow or misshapen
- Water overfills or freezes around the ice maker
- Ice bucket or ejector mechanism jams
- Water leaks into the freezer or onto the floor
Repair and diagnostic areas
Testing is selected for the reported symptoms and model design. The goal is to identify the failed system rather than replace parts by assumption.
- Water inlet valve and supply diagnosis
- Ice maker module and ejector testing
- Fill-tube and freeze-up correction
- Freezer-temperature verification
- Sensor, switch and control testing
- Leak and drain inspection
What happens during the service visit
- We confirm the model, installation and reported symptoms.
- The technician tests the systems most likely to cause the failure.
- You receive a clear explanation and repair price before work begins.
- The $79 diagnostic fee is applied when the recommended repair is approved.
Scheduling, pricing and warranty
Same-day and next-day visits are often available when route capacity allows. Completed repairs include a one-year limited parts and labor warranty, subject to invoice terms. Parts availability and model condition can affect completion time.
Questions about sub-zero ice maker repair
Yes. Ice production depends on the freezer reaching the correct temperature. A cooling issue may need to be corrected before the ice maker can operate normally.
Low water pressure, a restricted filter, valve trouble, fill timing or freezing conditions can affect cube size.
When testing confirms the ice-maker assembly has failed and replacement is appropriate, we can quote that repair. We do not replace parts based only on the symptom.
The diagnostic visit is $79 and is applied toward an approved repair.
