What the customer reported

No heat from the oven while the cooktop carried on working normally — the classic split that separates an oven-side fault from a supply problem.

What we found

Access ran through the top of the range. With the burner group lifted, the thermostat was not closing to call for heat.

What we did

Replaced the thermostat, reassembled the burner group, and ran the oven through preheat and hold before closing up.

Why this happens

Thermostats fail closed or open, and open is the common one: the oven simply never starts. It reads as a dead oven, which is why people expect an expensive repair and are surprised it comes down to one part.
